WE CAN BE KINGS

From the “If walls could talk” European roadtrip.

I feel blessed to say that I have been able to see some amazing sights since I’ve been taking photos. But the 2 places we traveled to in 17 hours were something else. Incredible.

Schola:

Half school, half chapel. With a little bit of hospital thrown in. Astonishing place.

H15 Prison:

I don’t need to say anything. A derelict prison will always be epic.

Once owned by a United States Air Force Serviceman, this beautiful cottage now lays uninhabited.

Rumour has it that he died whilst serving in America, and no one else was there to retrieve all of his belongings. In the upstairs rooms, there are even some boxes, still with clothes in, waiting to be sent to America. They’ll never reach their destination.

Hellingly Hospital.

Throwback, unreleased image of my favourite piece of graffiti. So simple, yet so haunting.

Pripyat.

Gasmasks in one of the primary schools make an eerie carpet.

Crookham court.
Once used as a school, it was shut down after confirmed cases of sexual abuse from teachers on young male students.

Still to this day, although externally destroyed, I haven’t been anywhere with as many belongings still as they was left behind here. This library and the literally 1000’s of books, is the best thing I’ve seen whilst exploring these buildings. I read a report recently of someone getting caught whilst stealing the books from the library. Why do people need to do that? You should feel lucky enough to be there, let alone stealing the stuff you’re there to shoot. This is why I’m so skeptical about giving location details out. Unless I know them personally, how do I know they won’t go and destroy it? I wouldn’t want to be the reason it gets burnt down or something, all because I gave away the location to someone I didn’t know. © Ryan Patrick Photography
